A Peek Behind the Scenes: My Quail Business Morning Routine

Ever wonder what goes into running a quail business? It’s more than just collecting eggs, let me tell you! I’m Christian from Undique, and I’m a big believer in automation and efficiency. I figured I’d give you a little glimpse into how I start my day and manage things here at the homestead.

This isn’t your average “rise and shine” routine. Mine involves a lot of tech, a little bit of nerdiness, and of course, my feathered friends. Before I even get out of bed, I’m checking weather forecasts (yes, on my phone, not out the window – I’m not a morning person!), monitoring my quail coops remotely via Wyze cams, and even keeping an eye on my energy consumption with Shelly smart plugs.

You’ll see in the video how I’ve set up automated systems for things like watering (a lesson learned the hard way after a minor flooding incident – ask me about it sometime! 😅). I’ll also show you how I use a Govee thermostat to ensure my little buddies are comfortable and how I track everything from egg production to sales. It’s a mix of practical tasks and keeping an eye on the numbers, all before my first cup of coffee!

I’m a firm believer in working smarter, not harder, and technology plays a huge role in that. From managing lights to keeping an eye on the temperature, smart devices help me free up time to focus on other important things. And let’s be honest, it’s pretty cool to check on your quail from your phone while still in your pajamas. 😉
